HOW IT WORKS
Through gentle, intuitive touch along your spine — or sometimes no physical contact at all — I help your body remember its innate capacity to heal. This is not about me fixing you; it is about creating the space for your body's own wisdom to emerge.
As we work together, you might experience spontaneous movements, sounds, temperature shifts, or waves of emotion. These are not random — they are your nervous system's way of releasing what it has been holding for you until you were ready.
Every shake, every breath, every tear is your body saying "I am ready to let this go."
Nothing is forced. Nothing is performed.
This is your energy — moving how it needs to move.
This is your body — releasing what it is ready to release.
As tension dissolves, new space opens. And in that space arises more clarity, freedom, and connection to your true self.

~ WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING A SESSION ~
There will be a brief consultation — an opportunity for you to share your needs, connect with your intentions, and set the tone for your session.
Once on the table, the session will begin with a short physical assessment of the feet along with gentle palpation along the spine. Depending on your height - a pillow may be placed under your feet to assist with assessment.
Music will be playing in the background. I encourage you to focus on your breath and bodily sensations, allowing yourself to enter a relaxed state.
If your mind begins to wander, gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
Using light touch both on the body and within the energetic field, I will facilitate the natural and primal flow of energy. Sound, breath, and movement may emerge as part of the body’s unwinding process, helping to release stored stress and tension patterns.
As the body learns to trust the process it will begin to embrace its innate intelligence and seek to unwind and release tension from the body. This can manifest in voluntary or involuntary movements. The most important thing to do is to trust and listen to your body, allow it to do what it does best with gratitude and wonder.
Physical movement is not a measure of the session’s effectiveness. The first few sessions often focus on re-establishing the mind-body connection, and profound shifts can occur even without visible movement.
Each session is unique, guided by your body, which will only release what you are ready to process.
~ WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AFTER A SESSION ~
Each of us has lived a unique journey, shaping the way we handle stress and emotions. Just as our experiences differ, so too does the way our bodies store, release, and process tension, energy, and stress — entirely unique to each individual. The tension your body releases is a result of how it has adapted to a combination of physical, chemical, and emotional stress. Because of this, your response to each session may vary.
YOU MAY EXPERIENCE
Feelings of light-headedness or disorientation.
Increased awareness of your body.
Changes in breathing patterns during and after the session.
Sensations of ease or discomfort.
A surge of energy or deep fatigue.
Detoxification symptoms such as nausea, changes in digestion, or headaches.
Emotional releases, including crying, laughter, or anger.
Old injury pains may return temporarily.
These responses indicate that your system is becoming more self-aware, promoting greater ease and connection. Your body will continue to process and integrate the session’s effects over the next 12 to 72 hours.
With the infusion of Reiki into the session it is believed to assist the body with experiencing a smoother integration process.

WILL I EXPERIENCE MOVEMENTS DURING A SESSION?
Every body responds differently, and that is exactly how it should be. Some people experience dramatic movements — shaking, stretching, or spontaneous shifts — from their very first session. Others find their body's response unfolds more subtly over time, through sensations like warmth, tingling, or deep stillness. Some people may not exhibit visible movement at all.
Here is what is important to understand: the amount of movement you experience has no bearing on how profound your healing is. A session where you lie perfectly still can be just as transformative as one filled with movement.
Your body knows what it needs, and however it responds is perfect for you.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
I recommend starting with a minimum of 3 sessions spaced 1-2 weeks apart.
Here is the important part: The goal of this work is not for you to need me indefinitely. Spinal Energetics is about retraining your nervous system to regulate itself. I am here to help facilitate your body remembering how to return to balance on its own, not to become your permanent fix.
This is why we start with sessions close together — your nervous system needs repetition to learn new patterns and remember its innate capacity for self-regulation. As your body begins to hold these shifts more easily, we gradually space sessions further apart.
Eventually, the aim is that you won't need regular sessions at all because your body has remembered how to do this work itself.
That said, life happens. Stress accumulates. Trauma can layer on. Think of it like a swimming pool — even with a good filtration system, leaves and debris will build up over time, and occasional cleaning keeps the water clear. Your nervous system is the same.
So while the goal is independence, this modality is always here when you need a tune-up, during particularly challenging times, or when you feel called to go deeper.
True healing is when you no longer need me. Until then, I am honoured to walk alongside you as your body remembers its own power..
IS SPINAL ENERGETICS SAFE FOR EVERYONE?
While this work is deeply beneficial for many, there are some situations where it is not appropriate or where specialised training is required for safety.
I'm unable to work with:
Pregnant individuals in their first or third trimester (second trimester may be possible — please reach out)
Children under 12 years of age
Adults over 75 years of age
Individuals diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, or Psychosis
Anyone hospitalised for a psychiatric condition or emotional crisis within the past 2 years
Those with recent physical injuries, fractures, or surgeries (within the past 6-12 months)
People with epilepsy or a history of seizures
Individuals with severe or unstable heart conditions.
If you fall into any of these categories, please do not hesitate to contact me. The Spinal Energetics community includes practitioners with specialised training for many of these situations, and I am happy to refer you to someone who can safely support you.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is ideal.
You will remain fully clothed throughout the session, so wear whatever allows you to move and breathe freely.
If you have shoulder-length hair or longer, please tie it up so the back of your neck is accessible. This allows me to work more effectively with your spine and energetic field.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE AND AFTER A SESSION?
Before: Arrive hydrated and avoid heavy meals right beforehand. Come with an open mind and no expectations — your body will guide the process.
After: Drink plenty of water, rest if your body asks for it, and be gentle with yourself. Some people feel energised afterward, while others need downtime. Honour whatever you need. You may notice shifts continuing for days or even weeks after your session..
WILL IT HURT?
No, the session itself will not hurt. The touch is gentle and respectful. Any discomfort that arises during a session typically comes from your body processing stored tension or emotion, not from the work itself. You remain in complete control and can communicate with me at any time.
After your session, as your body realigns and adjusts to its new state, you may experience some mild soreness or discomfort for up to 72 hours. This is completely normal — think of it like the feeling after a good workout or deep stretch. Your body is reorganising itself, releasing old patterns, and settling into better alignment.
Drinking plenty of water, gentle movement, and rest can help ease this integration process. If you experience any concerns beyond typical soreness, please don't hesitate to reach out.
WHAT IF I FEEL EMOTIONAL OR CRY DURING A SESSION?
Emotional releases are not just welcome — they are a natural and common part of this work. In fact, most sessions involve some form of emotional expression, whether that is tears, laughter, frustration, or waves of grief. This is your nervous system releasing what it has been storing, sometimes for years.
Crying during a session is not a sign that something is wrong; it is often a sign that something is finally moving. These releases are deeply cathartic and an essential part of your healing process.
It doesn't stop when you leave, either. It is completely normal to experience emotional waves in the 72 hours following your session as your body continues to integrate and process. You might find yourself tearing up unexpectedly, feeling unusually tender, or experiencing emotions that seem to come out of nowhere. This is all part of the unwinding.
This is a safe space for all of it — there will never be any judgement from me — as in all likelihood I have been there too, no need to hold back or "keep it together." Whatever needs to surface will, and I'm here to hold space for your complete experience.
CAN I COMBINE SPINAL ENERGETICS WITH OTHER THERAPIES?
Absolutely. Many clients find Spinal Energetics complements other healing modalities beautifully — whether that is psychotherapy, physical therapy, acupuncture, or other bodywork.
It works particularly well alongside counselling or psychology. Because Spinal Energetics brings repressed emotions and stored trauma to the surface, many people find they are able to process and articulate things in talk therapy that they could not access before. The body releases what the mind can then work with — they are powerful partners in healing.
Always let your other practitioners know you're receiving this work, as integration across all your care is key to your healing.
IS SPINAL ENERGETICS A REPLACEMENT FOR MEDICAL CARE?
No.
While Spinal Energetics can be a profound part of your healing journey, it is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
If you are experiencing physical symptoms, mental health challenges, or any medical conditions, please continue working with your qualified healthcare providers. This work supports your overall wellbeing but does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Because this work engages directly with the nervous system and can bring repressed trauma to the surface, it is essential to have appropriate support in place. Bringing deep emotions or traumatic material to the surface without proper professional support to process it can be destabilising rather than healing.
Your safety is my priority. If at any point I feel that continuing sessions may not be in your best interest — whether due to the intensity of what is surfacing or the need for additional mental health support — I will pause our work together and help you connect with the appropriate professionals who can provide the level of care you need.
Spinal Energetics is a complementary modality that works best when integrated alongside appropriate medical and mental health support.
